Slow Growth Is Still Growth
By Kimmy · October 3, 2026

Starting a small business sounds exciting—and it is—but there’s a side of it that doesn’t always get talked about.
The slow days.
The quiet days.
The days when you put your heart, time, and hard work into what you’re creating, only to wonder if anyone is noticing.
I know that feeling.
I make handmade soaps and crochet pieces to go along with them. Every product takes time, patience, creativity, and a little piece of my heart. From choosing materials and making each item to packaging, sharing, posting, and hoping someone will see what I’ve created—it’s a lot of work.
And sometimes, it feels like all that work isn't moving me forward.
But I’m learning something along the way:
Progress doesn’t always look like progress.
Sometimes progress is one sale.
Sometimes it’s someone discovering your business for the first time.
Sometimes it’s a returning customer.
Sometimes it’s learning something new, improving your craft, taking a better picture, making a new product, or simply finding the courage to keep showing up when things feel discouraging.
And sometimes, progress is nothing more than waking up the next day and deciding, I’m going to try again.
Small businesses don’t usually grow overnight. Behind every successful business is someone who had quiet beginnings, disappointing days, doubts, mistakes, and moments when they wondered whether it was all worth it.
So if you’re building something right now and it feels like nothing is happening, please don’t assume that nothing is happening.
The roots are growing even when you can’t see them.
Keep creating.
Keep learning.
Keep sharing.
Keep believing in the thing you started.
And most importantly, don’t give up just because the growth is taking longer than you hoped.
I’m reminding myself of that, too.
My little business may be growing slowly, but slowly is still growing. Every soap I make, every crochet piece I create, every order I pack, and every person who supports my work is part of the journey.
I may not be where I want to be yet.
But I’m not where I started, either.
And that’s worth celebrating. 💛
So here’s to the small beginnings, the long days, the quiet seasons, the lessons, the little victories, and the dreams we’re still working toward.
Keep going. Your progress may be slower than you imagined, but that doesn’t mean you’re not making progress.
One day, you may look back at these small beginnings and realize they were the foundation of something much bigger than you ever imagined.
Keep Life Bubbly
